Shakespeare Review 59권 2호에 게재할 논문을 모집합니다.

한국 셰익스피어학회 편집위원회에서 알려드립니다. 2023년 6월 30일 발간 예정인 Shakespeare Review 59권 2호에 발표하실 선생님의 옥고를 기다리고 있습니다. 

2023년 5월 21일(일)까지 한국 셰익스피어학회의 JAMS 시스템을 통해 투고해 주시면 됩니다. JAMS는 셰익스피어학회의 홈페이지(https://sakorea.or.kr)를 통해 접속하실 수 있습니다. JAMS에 투고를 하실 때, 투고자가 누구인지 짐작할 수 있는 정보를 모두 제외하셔야 합니다.

셰익스피어학회는 59권(2023년)부터 MLA Style Manual 9판을 편집 기준으로 삼고 있습니다. 원고 투고시에 MLA Style Manual을 반드시 확인하시기 바랍니다. 원고투고를 희망하시는 분들을 위해 MLA Style Manual 최신판에서 가장 두드러지게 바뀐 부분을 정리해서 보내니, 참고하시기 바랍니다. (MLA Style 참고사이트: https://owl.excelsior.edu/citation-and-documentation/mla-style/) 

2023년 2월에 발간되었던 59권 1호부터 MLA Style Manual 9판의 규정을 준수하지 않은 투고원고의 경우, 투고 단계에서 반려하고 있음을 양지해주시기 당부드립니다. 편집과 관련한 모든 문의사항은 이번 호의 책임 편집자 황수경 선생님(skhwang@ewha.ac.kr)과 편집 간사 김보식 선생님(bocgi@naver.com)께 연락주시기 바랍니다.    

공연리뷰(Performance Review)와 서평(Book Review) 원고를 투고하시는 분들도 마찬가지로 책임편집자이신 황수경선생님께 원고를 보내주시면 됩니다. Performance Review는 전자영 선생님께서, 그리고 Book Review는 고현동 선생님께서 담당하고 계십니다. 

원고투고를 원하시는 분은 현재 연회비를 납부하는 셰익스피어학회 회원이어야 하며, 논문 심사가 진행되기 위해서는 논문심사비(6만원)를 재무이사에게 사전 납부해야만 합니다.

4월 22일 총회의 의결에 따라 논문게재료에 변동이 있음을 알려 드립니다. 일반 논문의 경우 전임 30만원/비전임 25만원/대학원생 20만원으로 변경되었으며, 연구비 수혜 논문의 경우 40만원이 부과됩니다. 20면을 초과하는 경우, 매 1면마다 1만원씩 추가됩니다.

Shakespeare Review Manuscript Guidelines

MLA Style Manual 9th Edition의 주요 변경 내용을 간략히 정리했습니다.

All cited texts should be alphabetically listed in a separate “Works Cited” page. See the following guidelines for details. 

1. Book

Basic Format:

Last Name, First Name. Title. Publisher, Published Year.

Please note that you are not asked to include the place of publication anymore. 

a. Citing a work by an author:

Jackson, Shirley. The Haunting of Hill House. Penguin, 2018.

b. Citing a work by two authors:

Kordecki, Lesley, and Karla Koskinen. Re-visioning Lear’s Daughters: Testing Feminist 

Criticism and Theory. Palgrave Macmillan, 2016.

Note that out of the two authors only the first author is listed in reversed order according to the basic format. The second author’s name is not reversed unlike the first author. 

If the names are those of editors, the title ‘editors’ should be included after a comma following the name. 

Ogden, James, and Arthur H. Scouten, editors. Lear from Study to Stage: Essays in Criticism. 

Associated UP, 1997.

c. Citing a work by multiple authors (three or more):

Cavaye, Ronald, et al. A Guide to the Japanese Stage: From Traditional to Cutting Edge.

Note that only the first author is listed with their name reversed. The remaining authors are replaced with ‘et al’. 

d. Citing a book of collected essays put together by an editor:

Halio, Jay L., editor. Critical Essays on Shakespeare’s King Lear. G. K. Hall & Co., 1996.

e. Citing multiple books of an identical author:

Shakespeare, William. A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Cambridge UP, 2013.

---. Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. Cambridge UP, 2013.  

f. Citing a separate chapter from a book:

Thompson, Ann. “Part Two: Appraisal – the Greatness of King Lear.” King Lear: An 

Introduction to the Variety of Criticism, Macmillan, 1993, pp. 59-80. 

Note that the chapter is referred in double quotation marks and listed before the title of the book. The citation also ends with ‘pp.’ which refers to the page range. 

g. Citing an E-book:

Hamilton, Jennifer Mae. This Contentious Storm: An Ecocritical and Performance History of 

King Lear. E-book ed., Bloomsbury Academic, 2017. 

Note that the addition of “E-book ed.” after the title of the book.

2. Journal Article

Basic Format:

Last Name, First Name. “Title of Article.” Title of Journal, vol., no., Published Year, page range.

a. Citing an article:

Keener, Joe. “Evolving Hamlet: Brains, Behavior, and the Bard.” Interdisciplinary Literary 

Studies, vol. 14, no. 2, 2012, pp. 150-163.

b. Citing an article with a season:

c. Citing an article downloaded as a PDF file:

Note that after page range, there is the addition of the following: Contributor of the database (italicized), accessible link. PDF download.

Note how the original author’s name is placed first, later followed by the italicized title and the director’s name unreversed.
